"Lay It Down" will feature artists showcasing their talents through both music and discussion. Throughout the half-hour show artists will talk through their musical history, break down their songs and focus on the inspiration for specific verses and beats before performing their iconic hits. The series will feature episodes with Cee Lo Green interviewing guests such as Lil Jon, Ludacris, T-Pain, N.E.R.D., Janelle Monae and Public Enemy, plus other special guest performances.
As a founding member of the hip hop group Goodie Mob, Cee Lo Green is no stranger to fame. After breaking into the music business with hits such as "Soul Food" and "Dirty South," Cee Lo Green went on to pursue a solo career. In 2006, he joined forces with Danger Mouse to form Gnarls Barkley whose debut single "Crazy," went on to top the charts in download sales. Cee Lo Green has also collaborated with artists and bands such as T.I., Common, Diddy, Outkast and Ludacris. Today, Cee Lo Green continues to unveil new singles such as the Paul Epworth mix of the track "No One's Gonna Love You," that will be featured on his upcoming solo album, Lady Killer.
